A Tiara Fit For A Pooch!

Has your pup been eyeing the svelte schnauzer on your daily am walk, or has he been dogging after your neighbor's dashing dachshund? Even if your pup is a play-in-the-corner-with-a-tennis- ball kind of guy, give your little one the opportunity to go to stag, or to invite his latest crush to the Tompkins Square Park's first annual pooch prom on Wednesday, August 23rd.

In an effort to generate awareness and raise funds for the revitalization of this 169-year-old, neglected East Village landmark, the Friends of the First Run has organized this romantic and fun filled gala. Admission fee is $25 and a photographer will be on hand to take pictures of your black tie clad pup.

The party is from 5pm to 7pm at the run (East Seventh St and Ave A) and the after party will be held at Orchid Lounge (500 East 11th Street).

For all you non-native New Yorkers, take the lead from First Run and organize a dog prom in your local park. After all, every pup deserves a chance at prom queen.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at Shady's Waggery (443 East Ninth St), Whiskers (235 East Ninth St), or just feel free to pay at the fence when you arrive.
